WALT about the damage that the rain has done over the past few days in Canterbury
We have had big puddles and a lot of blocked gutters and drains in Christchurch over the last couple days.We have had to try and stay away from the surface flooding.This had been caused by some of the drains. Being blocked with leaves and the water can’t drain away.
The flood had caused sewage and other pollution to overflow and now a lot of the water is contaminated.If you come in contact with this pollution water you must shower yourself and your clothes.
Some schools have been damaged and have had to work in the hall.Some of the power cells have been flooded and damaged.There have been evaluations from some houses.
The rivers have broken their banks and there has also been strong gusts of wind.

ReplyDeleteIsn't it amazing the amount of rain that we have had.I can't believe that it caused so much damage.
I did hear that Woolston lost their power.I am guessing it's back on now.
Did you get many puddles at your house?.
We got a fair bit of water along the edge of our driveway.
